Can't see new disks

I have connected four new SAS disks to the HBA card (LSI 2308-something), but I can't see them. In the other card's port there are three SATA disks that the pool consists of.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

How are the disks connected? Sounds like you might be using a breakout cable ? If so you might have the wrong one (forward/reverse)

Ok there must be some other problem, the disks aren't even spinning. What the hell?

ATX power supply should provide the correct voltage to a SAS disk, right? I can't figure out what am I doing wrong.

I tried different PSU and still nothing.
The disks should power on even with the cable not connected to any HBA, right? There are still the SATA power connectors, so...

That will be the Pin 3 3.3v issue.

Well, I taped the third pin on all of the disks, and the PC wouln't even power up anymore.

No, the entire machine won't power on with the SAS disks (with the pin taped out) connected.

It's HGST HUS726040AL4210

The HGST 7K6000 drives have the power pin disable feature. I just went through this.

Yeah, how does that help me? I already taped the pin out and it doesn't work to say the least.

When you say you taped pin3 on ALL the drives; do you mean just the SAS drives

Jesus, of course I mean the SAS drives, why would I mess with what's already connected and working?
So, yes, just the SAS drives.

I cannot get my head around how isolating the pin3 3,3v pin on 4 of the connected 7 drives inhibits the motherboard power-on.
How are the drives connected to the power supply ?

Looks ok.
I would go back to the simplest power cabling with one drive at a time and find the point at which it fails.

I tried that :(
The damn PC doesn't power up even with just one of the disks connected.
The cable can't be bad though.

I'll try to get some molex-SATA cables to see if that works, but at this point I'm just lost.
