Cannot install in Oracle Virtualbox

I am trying to install a VM of Free NAS 8 in 4.0.12 of Virtualbox. I am stuck in a loop of going to the console setup installing pressing number 1 and rebooting. After reboot I am back to console setup box no matter what number I choose on the bootup screen.

are you trying the 32 bit or the 64 bit version. does your system support such version.

remember, if your os is 32 bit, but your chip is 64 bit, you can only host a 64 bit os if you have virtualization extensions (and enable them)

I am trying to use 32 bit version .iso in virtualbox 4.

Intel dual core E6550 2.33 Ghz

windows xp sp3

that all should work, what settings did you give your vm?

choose BSD for the OS
no audio device
more memory
add some hard drives

Tried all tour suggestions except I did not see how to add more hard drive. Still stuck in a loop.

spend some time reading the virtualbox manual being more familiar should help you get it running.
