SOLVED Cannot create l2arc cache vdev

Is there a reason the 'create' button is blanked out when I try to create a cache Vdev using the nvme drive noted below?

And if this is normal behavior, how do I create a l2arc using a single nvme via SCALE?

Your SSD is already partitioned. The Pool Manager expects raw disks with no partition table. Plus, you can't create a pool with just an L2ARC VDEV. You need to add the cache VDEV to an existing pool.
