That drive is going to die soon. Lots of issues and has never had a smart test run with over 33K hours(over 4 years) of run time so you didn't even known about it. Hopefully the disk will resliver but is very possible that you will end up sitting in limbo and have it fail.

Make sure you turn the smart service on and have regular short and long tests scheduled. Should be at least 1 short test per week and one long per month and can run more often. This will give you some advanced warning when there is a problem.

Well it's more than halfway through. Fingers crossed. Will definitely set up periodic tests.

It's speeding up. I think that's a good sign? anyway, how do I set up periodic smart tests? Just as a cron job, or is there an easier way?

So, it finished silvering, and even though it insists there's no errors, the Media folder is still empty and the drive still says it's full. I did a scrub, and it didn't take forever, but it didn't change anything one way or the other.

As long as the old drive is still there the space won’t expand. But before you do anything it’s worth checking that everything is in place. How did you check that folder?
If you only looked in a share from a client, open a terminal (either in the web GUI or via SSH) and check the content directly.

I was always checking from SSH. SMB isn't working right now because of wrong ownership and I wasn't sure what would happen if I chowned anything. When I look in the terminal, the only file listed is .windows, which I'm not sure the purpose of. The Media dataset shows in the GUI as taking up 0% of the drive, but the parent dataset, Data, is taking up 91% even though the only other child dataset is only using 38%.

Any advice? I know that once I remove the old drive any data I haven't saved is just gone. Is there any way to save any of it?

If resilvering has completed, all the data is mirrored. What's the current output of zpool status? What about du -sh /mnt/Data/*?

OK, so there's your answer. You don't have anything in Media, but you have quite a bit in many of the other directories. They don't show up in the Storage screen because they're directories, not datasets.

Guess I'll pull the plug then. Time to start re-ripping DVDs and re-downloading Welcome to Nightvale.

How much data did you think you had? Because when I add up what's showing there, I get about 1.5 TB. What's the output of zpool list?

So I'm not crazy. There's about 1TB unaccounted for. About the size of my missing files. Any way to recover them?
