Hey all,

I did some googling on this, but have not yet arrived at a conclusive answer.

Does anyone know if the Brocade 1020 series of SFP+ 10gig NIC's will work under FreeBSD 9.2 (or FreeNAS)

Thanks,
Matt

Yeah,

I looked at that first, but didn't see it. Also googled without any luck confirming or denying it.

Decided to ask here as it can be tough to know what is compatible with what, especially with all the acquisitions in the industry.

It's a fairly common adapter in servers, so I think it would be odd if it didn't.

The compatibility list DOES list a "Qlogic 1020", and Qlogic DID acquire Brocade's HBA business, but they don't call the adapters "Qlogic 1020" to my knowledge.

Hoping to find if anyone has had any luck with it before I go out and buy one.

So I did some more research and the Qlogic 1020 listed is definitely the same card as the Brocade 1020.

What puzzles me is that it is only listed under the storage controller section, not the network interface section (it is a combination card)

I am more interested in it for its application as a surprisingly cheap 10gbe networking solution rather than its HBA capabilities.

If anyone can confirm that it works as a NIC under BSD, I would be very grateful.
