Hi
I bought a couple of Broadcom 10 GBE BCM957711 NIC's on Ebay at a cheap price. I must admit that I was not aware of any issues with Truenas and Broadcom NIC's before buying them, but can see that on some instances there are issues.

I can see that data passes by judging from my switch but Truenas is reporting that the NIC is not working. Can anybody point me to the right direction?

The other NIC is in another server running Proxmos and working just fine.

Thanks in advance!

The Broadcoms are not known to work well with TrueNAS. Please feel free to head on over to the 10 Gig Networking Primer which has extensive discussions of well- and not-well-supported cards.

Never mind. I solved the problem myself.

I was using link aggregation on one of the other NIC's and when I removed that the problem was solved and the link status for the 10 GBE NIC is no "UP".

Working 100% now!

That board has iSCSI and TCP/IP hardware offload. I don't think FreeNAS can use any of those features though. There is no linux support for that. It's really intended to be used with a Dell server. Have you tried Non-Dell SFP+ modules? Curious.
