Broadcom NXE 57800 10GBASE-T

Hello,

We are having issues with our onboard NIC being recognized by freenas.
Server: Dell T640 with integrated Broadcom NXE 57800 10GBASE-T

How can we make freenas recognize the NIC? Past forum post show editing /boot/loader.conf and set if_bxe_load="YES"
Based on the BSD man page https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=bxe&sektion=4&manpath=freebsd-release-ports
It also seems that if we edit the loader.conf file, it will be overwritten upon update.

Try to install a vanilla FreeBSD 11.3 to check if your NIC is supported by FreeBSD.
If it works, it should also work with FreeNAS 11.3, else open a bug report and post the link to the ticket here.

If it works only on FreeBSD 12.1, then you have to wait for the release of FreeNAS 12.1 to use this NIC.
