I guess I'm having an off day. Just run the command without th bg and once it starts press [ctrl]+z to send it to the background.

I put it in the background and couldn't tell when it ended so instead I opened two ssh connections and ran the two commands at the same time in the separate windows. The output from the second window exceeded the character limit here so there is a link to pastebin.

Update: The array just started getting checksum errors on the same drive. Not Degraded yet.

Thats showing zero IO on the pool during the read operation. I'm confused.
