The intent is to run ESXi as the host, and FreeNAS as a guest, along with a few VMs and Containers (Zoneminder, Embry).

Asrock H270M-ITX/ac Mother Board is compatible with FreeNAS 11.3?

With a CPU that supports ECC RAM (I guess the Pentium and maybe some of the other options) and ECC RAM, that board provides the right components like Intel NICs and an OK number of SATA ports (6)

It's a little light on expansion options in case you need an HBA and 10G NIC later, but I guess your target is a small case.

It will work, but ultimately it isn't server gear, so may lack long-term reliability.
