Hi,

my pool has a size of 7TB.
I configured a dataset with a quota of 1TB, and defined a afp share for time machine backups on it.

Why it shows me (in the Time Machine App on my Mac) 7TB of 7TB available?
Should it not be 1TB of 1TB (the quota size)?

How can I "hide" the real pool size from the macs?

hmmm, that is a bit strange. quotas work as expected with my setup (AFP and CIFS shares).

Can you take a quick screenshot of your settings for that dataset?

EDIT: Can you also post your system specs and what version/build of freenas you are running?

my fault... ;-)

I set set the share accidentally to the parent dataset, now I reconfigured at it worked as expected.
