Why share type "windows" for AFP Time-Machine Backup?

According to the documentation, I used the wizzard to create an AFP share and checked the time-machine box. After that it is recommended to edit the dataset-options to set a quota. When I do this, the share type is set to "windows". Why is that? It is also shown in the picture in the documentation:

If I click on change permissions, the permission type is set to Unix. Why is that?

Permission type unix and share type windows for an AFP share, does that make any sense?

Doesn't seem to work to well, I'm getting the sparse bundle problem. It is also mentioned in the docs, so I'll try to look into that today.

I just edited the options of the dataset and set the share type to "Mac" and the sparse bundle problem is gone now. Is it really on intention, that the default is "unix"? Is is this a bug?
