For server chassis that have I2C or SGPIO to the backplane, we currently cannot activate the hard drive failure LED through the webGUI.
By logging in with SSH I can run the command:
"sas2ircu 0 display" to show the drives in each bay (The number 0 is the controller number. It could be 0, 1, 2,etc.)
I then find the drive's enclosure and slot number. I then can use:
"sas2ircu 0 locate 2:1 ON" to active the failure LED (In this example 0 was the controller number, 2 was the enclosure number, and 1 was the slot number)
I can then deactivate the failure LED by using:
"sas2ircu 0 locate 2:1 OFF"
