Hi,

with 9.2.1.6 release I configured my NIC to carry 2 VLANs with static IPv4. The parent Interface itself - Intel PRO 1000 NIC - was left blank (no static ip, no DHCP).
With 9.2.1.7 it seems that it does not work any longer: either I have to activate DHCP on the parent interface or I have to assign a static IP to it. VLAN config was left unchanged during the changes.
With blank parent interface, there was no connection possible to the NAS.

The additional IP (configured static out of a non-existing subnet) is a bit irritating on the console interface and with DHCP activated booting takes longer.

Regards

P.S.: hardware is a HP N40L with 4 GB ECC RAM and 3 x 1TB WD red drives

Does this text help at all?

The parent interface of a vlan has to be up, but it can have an IP address or it can be unconfigured, depending upon the requirements of the VLAN configuration. This makes it difficult for the GUI to do the right thing without trampling the configuration. To remedy this, after adding the VLAN, go to Network ‣ Interfaces ‣ Add Interface. Select the parent interface from the “NIC” drop-down menu and in the “Options” field, type up. This will bring up the parent interface. If an IP address is required, it can be configured using the rest of the options in the “Add Interface” screen.

My fault...have forgotten to add "up" as an option to the parent interface from the old config.

Sorry about that.
