having a weird issue with a new server. I have a chelsio 320 adapter and it does not show up in a new freenas 11 box.

lspci shows no card.

This is a new supermicro server with a intel gold cpu.

Any suggestions? I was going to go back and try 9.10 and see if that helps maybe?

Kind of odd.

I hesitate to ask, but did you try removing the card and putting it back in (maybe in another slot if possible)?

I'm not seeing support for anything in that series on the FreeBSD site and from what I can tell FreeBSD 10 had even less support. Since that it what FreeNAS is based on the easiest way is to look on their hardware pages to see what should work. The short answer is it probably will not work.

The Chelsio cards listed at https://www.freebsd.org/relnotes/CURRENT/hardware/support.html are:
[i386,amd64] The cxgb(4) driver supports 10 Gigabit and 1 Gigabit Ethernet adapters based on the T3 and T3B chipset:
  • Chelsio 10GBase-CX4
  • chelsio 10GBase-LR

  • Chelsio 10GBase-SR
The cxgbe(4) driver supports 100Gb and 25Gb Ethernet adapters based on the T6 ASIC:

  • Chelsio T6225-CR

  • Chelsio T6225-SO-CR

  • Chelsio T62100-LP-CR

  • Chelsio T62100-SO-CR

  • Chelsio T62100-CR
The cxgbe(4) driver supports 40Gb, 10Gb and 1Gb Ethernet adapters based on the T5 ASIC:

  • Chelsio T580-CR

  • Chelsio T580-LP-CR

  • Chelsio T580-LP-SO-CR

  • Chelsio T560-CR

  • Chelsio T540-CR

  • Chelsio T540-LP-CR

  • Chelsio T522-CR

  • Chelsio T520-LL-CR

  • Chelsio T520-CR

  • Chelsio T520-SO

  • Chelsio T520-BT

  • Chelsio T504-BT
The cxgbe(4) driver supports 10Gb and 1Gb Ethernet adapters based on the T4 ASIC:

  • Chelsio T420-CR

  • Chelsio T422-CR

  • Chelsio T440-CR

  • Chelsio T420-BCH

  • Chelsio T440-BCH

  • Chelsio T440-CH

  • Chelsio T420-SO

  • Chelsio T420-CX

  • Chelsio T420-BT

  • Chelsio T404-BT

I think your Chelsio card is a T-320 and it should be supported. It is an older
generation NIC but should be able to work just fine with the cxgb(4) driver
that has been in FreeBSD for a very long time.
