Hi - one of the drives in my Pool was dying (SMART errors), so I replaced it (this is not the first time I have had to replace a drive). After I did this, I received the error "Pool Pug state is ONLINE: One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. An attempt was made to correct the error. Applications are unaffected.".
I went through the process of identifying the offending disk, and it was the one I had just replaced (da4). Since it is brand new and hadn't had any of the SMART tests run on it yet, I cleared the error (zpool clear Pug) and am scrubbing the pool again. Once it finishes, I will run the long SMART test on that drive and see if anything comes up.
This has happened to me before on this pool/machine and I am wondering why. I have another TrueNAS server with all 3TB disks, and have never had to replace a disk (at least not yet), but this machine with all 6TB disks, I have had to replace at least 3 of the disks and I keep getting this error (and each time I replace the offending disk). Is there an issue with 6TB disks, or am I just unlucky? I have a mix of Segate and WD drives (more of the WD drives have failed, which is why I am going with Segate drives now).
Thanks - Andrew
