Consolidating two backup shares into one

I have two TrueNAS boxes, both with a 'backup' share and I would like to consolidate them into one place. Unfortunately, different permissions were set when I created the shares so moving from one place to another is a bit tricky.

Can someone suggest how to go about ensuring the same permissions are set in both places? I'm a little bit hazy on setting permissions on TrueNAS.

If they're in the same pool on the same server and you're using SMB, you can probably just shift the datasets around with a ZFS rename and not mess with permissions (or copying) at all. Samba will allow mountpoint traversal. Different pools, I'd just do a ZFS send/recv. In short, if at all possible, use the strengths of ZFS to your advantage.
