First off thank you to anyone that takes the time to look at and help upfront. I have researched till I am blue in the face but can not seem to pin down this issue.

A quick note of my setup:
  • TrueNAS-12.0-U4
  • Windows 10 PC
  • Windows 2012R2 Server
  • Single Pool
  • Single Data Set
  • Used ACL Permissions admtest user and admtest group has owner and full control.
  • user1 - test
  • group1 - (contains user1)

I can connect from windows \\serverIP\Share and create additional folder and delete them with no issues using "admtst" . But when I right click and edit permissions and try to add either user1 or group1 I am prompted for credentials again as if it can not enumerate the accounts. I have tried a few versions of ways to input the credentials non have worked thus far. (servername\admtest, ip\admtest, admtest@servername, admtrest@ip.

From videos and research this should be a very simple task. I have gone from very strict to very loose permissions during troubleshooting.
