where the recycle bin is located

There is no recycle bin. Once deleted, it's pretty much gone for good. You could turn on Snapshots, read up on that.

There's an SMB share option "Export Recycle Bin" :

I have never tried to use it, though.

I use that option. It creates a .recycle directory in the dataset being shared out. This will be hidden in the mapped drive, unless you enable viewing hidden files.

Correct, prior to TrueNAS 13/SCALE there was only one ".recycle" directory in SMB shares, we now create separate ones inside child datasets of SMB shares on file deletion. The reason for this is to preserve atomicity of the recycle operation (which isn't possible when moving files between datasets).
