I have a 10TB ZFS array consisting of 5 3TB WD Red drives. I am running multiple jails for SABnzbd, Sonarr, Couchpotato, and Deluge off of a 8GB USB 2.0 flash stick.

My plugins are functional but noticeably slow. I would like to speed them up.

Here is my system specs:
AMD A4-5300 Trinity Dual-Core 3.4GHz

ASRock FM2A85X Extreme4-M

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 1600

What I'm curious about is where my bottleneck lies. What hardware should I upgrade to improve performance. My guess is I need more ram as nearly the full 8GB I currently have is allocated. Would investing in a small SSD for my jail improve performance as well? It doesn't appear that I have much CPU usage.

I will post my system report momentarily.

Are the jails installed on a flash drive?

That is definitely a bottleneck! Moving the jails to an SSD or your pool will help. Be aware that your motherboard and processor are not recommended hardware and there could continue to be issues.

Have you read any hardware stickies?

AMD systems are generally not recommended because of poor support for FreeBSD. Your CPU has a PassMark score of 2,013 and the lowest recommended CPU is a Pentium G2020 which has a score of 2,780. FreeNAS/FreeBSD can not utilize the GPU portion of your heterogeneous chip. Also your motherboard has a Realtek network adapter which is strongly recommended against because of performance issues. This system will never be "speedy". Your system does not support ECC RAM which can lead to complete loss of data.

AKA Your bottleneck is "the whole damn thing".

- Realtek LAN
- no ECC RAM
- AMD in general

Congratulations, you did build one of the worst possible FreeNAS systems.
