When the FreeNAS OS drive fails, what happens next?

So I build a 20TB 10 drive FreeNAS machine. I use a single 250GB hard drive I have laying around to put the FreeNAS OS on and ZFS the 10 other drives.

Here is my question: When the 250GB FreeNAS OS drive fails and I have to build a new one from scratch, what happens to my 20TB ZFS array? Is the data now gone when I rebuild the OS drive?

Thanks, so the data is always secure? I did try searching docs for my question but I guess I did not know how ask the correct questions to get my specific answer.

The data is separate from the OS. It's never tied to the OS drive.

You can even just load a new OS drive, and import your pool without the configuration if you wanted to start your FreeNAS config over but keep the data on the pool.
