What to do with ex-FreeNAS drive so can format for WIndows

I will be removing a dodgy 3Tb drive from my FreeNAS and replacing it with a new one.

I gather that "something" has to be done to it prior to removal so that Windows can later recognise / format it to a Windows filesystem.

Is it just a matter of using the 'wipe' drive button in the GUI ?

Would appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction here. CHeers
