I guess that I deserved that.
This looks promising:

Are you using AutoFS on FreeNAS (Server)? Ubuntu (Client)? Both? How are you trying to mount the NFS volume in your Ubuntu VM?
I have it configured with AutoFS.
does iohyve gives a GUI to run Ubuntu?
Thank you - Ubuntu 64-bit worked nicely. Interestingly, the VirtualBox jail has the same problem under 9.10 (doesn't receive an address via DHCP), but hard-coding the address is a workaround. (Just want to note - I also run the Plex Media Server plugin and its jail does NOT have this problem - it still works just fine with 9.10.)
With all that, though, I felt as though I was dedicating an awful lot of my FreeNAS resources to CrashPlan. Since I had a spare Windows box lying around, I just installed CrashPlan on it and adopted the backups that had been done until now by the CP plugin. So now the filesystems were a little different, but it only took one overnight to figure out that everything was really the same (2.5T and about 325,000 files) - see this link for how this works. CP on Windows appears to be much faster and more reliable than what I had with the plugin. So I'm saying goodbye to CP on FreeNAS - it's been fun (sort of) but I won't miss it.
Make sure your system has the min specs to run crashplan. Then mount it and double check it has read permissions for everything. If that doesn't work figure out what the difference between the data that gets backed up and the data that doesn't.So how exactly did you setup CP on a desktop and backup all the data on the freeNAS box? I tried that and CP only backed up 250MB when there is many terabytes to back up. CP sees FREENAS on the network. But it's just not seeing ALL of it I guess. Not sure if this is a CP limitation or ...?

Sorry I didn't reply until now. Shouldn't be any (reasonable) limitations on size of backup - in my case it's 2.4T and it works just fine. Let us know if starting from scratch solved the problem. So sounds it's nothing special really. Just a basic install on any compatible computer. After mounting, Crashplan should see it (which it does for me) then back it up if its selected.
I just unticked the media folder and now Crashplan is backing up more stuff 52GB worths or far. thats a hug improvement. Maybe a glitch. I'll probably untick everything and start from scratch.
Trying to follow through this post... but it sounds like the majority of people (all?) are trying to use crashplan to back up TO your FreeNAS, correct? I had been backing up FROM my FreeNAS TO the crashplan servers for a few months and then it just randomly stopped working (plugin) last week. Haven't been able to get it squared away again yet.
Definitely do not move to Corral! That is horrible advice.or move to Corral,
