What am I missing with my setup?

With my setup I'm trying to use Transmission, then use plex to stream to my TV's. Also using it to use software across the network.

I installed 9.2.1.5 on to my flash drive.

• Setup static IP 192.168.1.150/24 IPv4
• Login to web gui
• Setup password for root
• Setup network info
  • DNS - 192.168.1.1, 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
  • Gateway - 192.168.1.1
• General info
  • Time zone: EST
• Storage* same name
  • 5x 3TB RaidZ (10.41TB)
    • 1 Dataset called "locker"
  • Storage permissions are set to owner:nobody group:nogroup - I trust everyone in the network since it's only my wife and I.
• Share (CIFS)
  • share permissions same as storage
  • /mnt/storage/locker/
• Plugins (transmission)
  • 192.168.1.152
  • /mnt/storage/locker/torrents *same permissions*
• Plugins (plex)
  • 192.168.1.154
  • /mnt/storage/locker/plex, /movies, /music, /apps/windows, /apps/mac

When I try using transmission it says i don't have permission, same with plex.

Are your jails installed inside the locker dataset or in their own dataset in the storage pool? I believe the plugins need to be installed in a dataset with root and wheel ownership.

They are installed using the "installer" so I think this is the setup.

• transmission_1-jail
• plex_1-jail

In the Jails configuration tab you can set the Jails root to any location, but if you did not change it I believe it defaults to the root of your pool so that would be correct. I'm no permissions expert and the only other suggestion I could make would be to setup your anonymous access using a guest account as the manual suggests, not using nobody/nogroup. This is how my system is setup and working well.

Thanks for your help I'll try again today. No more upgrading for me I did have everything working when installed 9.2 upgrading to 9.2.1.2 broke my permissions.
