Hi all,
I recently had an issue where a drive failed in my pool - I replaced it and was getting some weird errors when resilvering showing errors with the new drive, thinking the new replacement drive was broken I replaced it with another new drive but left the first new drive in the system/pool. I still had issues resilvering so on delving further I realised a second of my original drives was failing. I replaced that with now a third new drive and my pool resilvered and the pool is now showing as healthy.
So the second failed drive was replaced with a drive / like for like so that's fine but for the first failed drive I now have 2 drives in its place. How do I go about removing one of the drives to get my spare disk back? Do I simply detach one of the drives from the pool and remove it from the system?
Cliff notes - I replaced one failed drive with 2 new drives and would like one of them back.
Ps I am running a raidz2 pool.
