I have tried this with version FreeNAS-8.3.0-RELEASE-x64 (r12701M) and FreeNAS-8.2.0-RELEASE-p1-x64 (r11950), both have the same behavior.
To have a NIC with vlan tagging working, after to configure the tagging from GUI I have to use the command(ifconfig em1 up) to put the parent interface in a up state(this solution is not persistent) or configure an ip in the parent interface (for example 2.2.2.2/24).
Without any of the above procedures vlans do not work with Freenas, I have checked the documentation, and there is no reference about this.
Is there a way to make vlans working without the above workarounds?
Is there a way to set up the command "ifconfig em1 up" to be executed in the statup process? Thereby I do not need to configure the extra ip.
Best Regards
