UUID changes after every reboot of a VM/Host?

Dear truenas community, altough i realy enjoy truenas scale's virtualization capability, i did notice the UUID of VM's changes, i have software that creates a unique hw id based on the NIC Mac's and the UUID of the bios/motherboard thats being virtualized. So now after every reboot, and change of the UUID at the generated hw id of the license coupling is not valid anymore, and i have to get in touch with the support department to get it valid again which is pretty annoying to say the least.

Is it possible to give a static UUID to the kvm vm's in truenas scale either via script, or by editing a file on the host machine?

looking forward to your help!

That does seem like a bug... Can you please file a ticket at https://jira.ixsystems.com along with a debug file (System -> Advanced -> Save Debug)
did make a report just now, but i do want to add; it would be nice if there was an option to define the UUID to keep it static, should be possible as its allso placed into the XML right?

This seems like the same issue I just reported. Didn't find this before as my issue was specifically related to the windows installation ID.
