I have just reported a bug to IXsystems but I thought I'd post it here as well.
It appears that the installation id for my windows vm is changing every time I start and stop the VM.
the installation ID is visible when typing "slmgr /dlv" into the windows cmd prompt.
It has caused me to have to sign in again to the windows store on every reboot and adds another linked device in my windows store management.
I originally noticed this issue because I have no other windows devices and I managed to reach the linked device limit of 10 in one afternoon while I was configuring the VM for the first time and had rebooted it several times installing drivers and tweaking several other windows related settings.
This is alarming because the installation ID is not supposed to change unless you make hardware changes to your device. If this changes too often it may even affect your windows install/license. Depending on your license type and how you obtained it this may be more or less of an issue.
