Running stable branch on HP Microserver G8 and upgraded to 9.10 from FreeNAS GUI.
Update succeeded but upon reboot it boots to grub prompt (hence no menu) and fails to load FreeNAS.
Is there any way to retrieve and load last good known configuration?
Been running FreeNAS for few years but still noob...

Regards Thomas

Thanks for replying. I do have console access using iLO but the boot menu is never loaded.
All I get upon boot is the grub command line.

If you have a backup of your config file I suggest installing the latest version of FreeNAS and importing your config. If you don't have a backup it might be possible to pull it off your pool.

What are you using as a boot device?

I am using a SD card in the built-in card reader of the HP microserver.

The configuration of the server is fairly simple with only a few jails running, thus having to reconfigure is not a deal breaker.

Seems like a broken SD card (the more seasoned will tell "told you so").

FreeNAS is reinstalled and trying to recover config file. Volume is imported just fine, but unsure how to retrieve config from pool?

If your system dataset was on your pool you can find config backups at /var/db/system/configs-*
