The forum software replaces the German word "im" (short for "in dem") by the English term "I'm". Is there a way for users or forum admins to prevent that behavior, which sometimes has perplexing implications?

CMD Test: replaces the German word "im" (short for "in dem") by "I'm"
CODE Test:
Code:
replaces the German word "im" (short for "in dem") by "I'm"

PLAIN Test: replaces the German word "im" (short for "in dem") by "I'm"
ICODE Test: replaces the German word "im" (short for "in dem") by "I'm"

I'm out of ideas for now ...

Sigh. This was done because of the apparent impossibility of typing an apostrophe for many people. Let's say they are using phones. The word replacement in XenForo is not language-specific, unfortunately. I will remove that word.

Now it looks correct, thanks. Looks like mobile apps / mobile browsers would be a more appropriate place where this kind of replacement should be implemented.

This is partly my fault. I completely forgot to spend a minute thinking whether the suggested list of replacements was safe in other languages. Sorry about that.

No, it's not your fault. XenForo is sadly lacking in many things.

Next unwanted replacement discovered: -i (lower case 'i') is shown by the forum software as -I (upper case 'i'), which is misleading not only in grep -i

CMD Test: -i is shown as -I, which is misleading not only in grep -i
CODE Test:
Code:
-i is shown as -I, which is misleading not only in grep -i

PLAIN Test:-i is shown as -I, which is misleading not only in grep -i

Changed. That one hurts, it was right far more often than wrong.
