Two way sync with windows (and mac if possible). no unison? other option?

Hey guys,
I have my Freenas running (loving it!).
Now, I'm trying to have some subfolders available in my computer while I'm away from my LAN.
I'm not the only one that modified that folders, so I need a two way sync (no just backing up my local forlders).
I want my local changes to be sync in the freenas, and changes in the freenas to sync to the computer.

Something "dropbox-like", but with the power and flexibility and control of Freenas
I saw that Unison is not longer supported by Freenas

ANY IDEAS? IS IT POSSIBLE?

Hi Raymond,

You might want to take a look at Syncrify. I haven't used it and can't tell you much about it, but it does two-way sync using rsync, and it's a Windows app. It should work fine with FreeNAS. Here's a link:

You could also use Allway Sync (though free version has to be upgraded when you reach a certain file syncing threshold in a month) or have a look at Areca Backup (open-source & free)

I'm testing different solutions

First I tried was syncBackSE ($35) (they also have a PRO version). http://www.2brightsparks.com/
You have the option to sync manually or schedule (every min, hour, day, what ever). It works fine in a LAN with path. It also has a FTP option what works good (what can be used to sync over the WAN). This is a "for dummies" 10 min installation. Don't know what limitations it has yet.

Now, I'm gonna try Syncrify and Allway Sync

Syncrify looks good. Specially because it works with rsync, https, (at least that's what they said). 50 bucks per client with one year phone support doesn't look bad. And they have a link that says how to install it in freenas http://web.synametrics.com/SyncrifyFreeNAS.htm
I'm having some troubles installing because I used a pen-drive to install freenas. I'm not even sure if I have the full or the embedded version (until know I didn't know there was those two versions. But that is a question for another post :) ).
Plus, it has linux and macOS version (needed)

Next, I'm gonna try allway sync. It sure looks good too. Specially because its open source.

Watch out, that tutorial for FreeNAS is for version 7, it won't work on version 8. Version 8 is only intended to run from a pen-drive, so make sure you know which version you are using. Also, version 7 has a completely different forum for asking questions, this forum is only for version 8 stuff. There's a link at the top of this page in the Titlebar for the FreeNAS 7 forums if your decide to go that way.

Off course!, that's why I'm having troubles with the installation. Because I can't write on the pen-drive. I though it has something to do with embedded or full version (that today I found out that there are two versions).

Let me read about installing packages in the freenas 8! (that's the one I have running)

For what I'm seeing, syncrify is the only of those 3 that need a server side running. Not sure yet what are the advantages of that.

I'll let you know the result of the homework. Weekend plan :)

How bad is it to install java + syncrify inside the flash drive (4gb)
