Hi, I have DNS issue in the following machine.
OS Version:TrueNAS-SCALE-22.02.2.1
Product:PowerEdge R720xd
Model:Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2630L v2 @ 2.40GHz
Memory:31 GiB

The issue is that when I deploy any app either official or truechart (I am trying with qbittorrent), It can ping with IP's but can not resolve donaim names inside of the app.
Outside of the app, truenas DNS works perfectly.

I have tried using DHCP, also I disable my adguard docker even it is not used as DNS in truenas.
Can someone share some idea to test?
Thanks

Hello,

just dropped by to say that I have the same issue and I am curious how to solve this.

Have a look at Truecharts documentation, they talk about how to do this:

@sretalla - the problem exposed here is not linking internal apps. It's the very basic and simple DNS service not being available inside the container that is brought up. If I drop to the shell of the container, I get no DNS service, exactly how it is presented in the OP.

I got it running, somehow. What I did was to add, in the networking tab, multiple DNS servers and the gateway, as seen in the picture below.
After rebooting the TrueNAS Scale host, things magically started working.

@iragoiko - maybe it's worth taking a shot?

@tudorsmt , after several trials with different setips and reboots did not work. Finally I did a fresh install and create new pool and magically worked. This looks like some bug.

I'm glad to know that it worked for you. Hopefully others will read the thread and understand that randomly messing around might fix it.

192.168.178.2 is my pihole, running on a separate machine in the network. 192.168.178.1 is the all-in-one router/DNS/magic from my ISP. 192.168.178.1 is also the upstream for my pihole. Could this be an issue?
