Hello! Brand new Gigabyte H110N board + i3 6100. Hang at Loading Kernel Modules, ctrl-c hang at mdnsd, ctrl-c to the menu and the "No interfaces are configured" error.
9.10.2 install hang. I tried version 10 for kicks. Did not go well.
I tried all kinds of things to get both of those versions to work.
Finally used kill a disk on both the install USB stick and the USB->CF card.
Rufus 9.10.1U4 to USB Stick using MBR for BIOS or UEFI mode
Boot from USB stick BIOS partition.
Then installed 9.10.1U4 with UEFI boot mode and it worked!
I am currently running the GUI update mechanism to see what happens going to 9.10.2 before I start setting stuff up.

Update: Install completed. I got smart and did something else instead of staring at it. After reboot, same behavior. I had set up a Time Machine share before I decided to try the update so the second hang happened after starting netatalk. Must be the network kernel module that doesn't load initially? *pulls that out of his ass*
Nice thing is I could roll back to working 9.10.1U4 environment.
How can I help debug this?

I am at current BIOS F20 for my board. I could try reflashing it. I thought I may have seen there was a FreeNAS update this morning? I cannot find where I saw that. I'll try the update again later today.

9.10.1U4 is running solid for throughput tests.

Got my M.2 drive installed. Hoped maybe the problem was XHCI related. Update to 9.10.2 same result.

I have to say I am not entirely surprised at the issues you are seeing. That is a desktop grade motherboard, with a Realtek NIC. If 9.10.1-U4 works, I would stick with that. You are, however, likely to have issues in the future with that board and FreeNAS.

Thanks! New motherboard, sans realtek NIC, it is!

Read the hardware thread. Yeah yeah I know.
Tried OpenMediaVault.
Ordered an X11SSL-F-O and some ECC RAM.
Shuffles away.
