Transportable freenas

I'm thinking of building a replacement freenas system. My current system is a raidz3 system with 8+3 4TB HDDs. I'd like something smaller and much more easily transportable.

I'm wondering if it's possible to use a mini itx server with an external psu and 14TB HDDs in external cages (something like https://www.aliexpress.com/i/4001241325589.html, though I've seen them with fans which would be better). I'd probably go with 4+4 14TB drives in a raidz4 so I could split the drives between hand and checked luggage when I fly.

Does this seem like a practical solution?

There's no such thing as RAIDZ4. You could use mirrors though.

Do I lose anything if I mirror instead?
