I am in the process of moving my data from windows shares and a hw raid setup and have two pretty new Freenas setups. Each has 10 mechanical drives with 5900 rpm drives as the slowest and one Z2 pool on each . Both have server MBs, one Supermicro X9SRi with Xeon E5-1603 v2 and 32 mb ddr3 and one Asus Z10PA-U8 with Xeon E5-1603 v4 and 32 mb ddr4.
When I was moving stuff like movies, music etc between my earlyer shares and raid 1 setups I usually got between 100-120 mb/s transfers. Between the two Freenas I get between 40-60 mb/s using copy/paste between SMB shares. Is that normal? I use the same 1 gb/s network as before.
