Tonido and FreeNas?

Main computer:

HP Compaq Presario CQ50-107NR running Windows Vista 32-bit.
I have Tonido Desktop installed as well as TonidoSync.

My server:

Gateway M460A running FreeNAS 8.3. Connected to my server is a 1TB external USB hard disk drive.

My devices:

iPhone 4S and iPad 3rd gen (both have Tonido Apps installed)

This is what I am trying to accomplish:
I want to replace DropBox, iCloud, and SoundCloud with my FreeNAS. I create music on my iPhone (4S) and my iPad (3rd gen) and I would like to upload the documents the apps save and access my FreeNAS via Tonido. My biggest issue is being able to connect TonidoSync to FreeNAS on my network.
Is this the correct approach?
Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I've never heard of Tonido, but if I were in your shoes I'd look at how Tinido works and does its thing, how FreeNAS serves up its files and try to figure out what combinations can work. Then consider if(and how) you want to implement those options.
