PC "nerd" since the mid 80's. Have been involved with PACS (Digital medical imaging) since 1996. Currently support 6 separate PACS Systems with over 1.25 Petabytes of image data. Decided to load up FreeNAS as a personal venture into storage and get a better understanding of how it "works". Had minor issues loading up FreeNAS but was able to get 10TB of drive space loaded and available on my home network in under 2 hours (including cleaning out an old PC and installing new drives). Still need to learn more about the setup and configurations but was able to map to the PC running FreeNAS successfully on 3 of my computers. Looking forward to learning as much as I can with FreeNAS and hopefully be able to speak on a more intelligent level with the storage team at my company.
