Hello,
I always get the folowing message when I try to mount a drive "The selected disks were not verified for this import rules."
THis is for a USB hard drive of 160 GB formatted in fat32.

Volume name : Data1
Disk : da1s1 (160.0 GB) ▼
Filesystem type : • MSDOSFS

If I connect a other USB drive, I have the same problem even if it is a NTFS drive.
What is the problem, or is there a bug.
I also have to plug them in when I reboot otherwise they do not show up after bootup.

what can I do exept for reformating the disks.

Hello Michel,

These are known issues with FreeNAS and we've been waiting for a fix. There's a workaround for NTFS if you read the Unofficial FAQ in my signature below. FreeNAS 8.03 should be arriving soon maybe??? So hopefully these problems will be fixed.

I also have the same problem with importing ext3 HDD. Neither UFS or EXT2FS work for me. And when I tried mount manually on SSH using mount -t extfs2 /dev/ada3p6 /mnt/ext2 , it returns: invalid argument.

So I'm confused, is your partition ext2 or ext3?

Ext3 is not supported at all, and ext2 depends (sorry I can't recall the details at the moment). UFS shouldn't have any issues, it is the native filesystem of FreeBSD/FreeNAS.

EDIT: FreeBSD can only handle ext2 partitions if their INODE size = 128. I think the default in Linux is 256, and this is also true for ext3, but ext3 has journaling and FreeBSD doesn't handle that.
