My system is crashing sometimes twice a day now, and my console is spitting out `re1: watchdog timeout`

Any ideas what's going on?

Apologies.

ZOTAC ZBOX C Series Passive Cooling Mini PC
ZBOX-CI323NANO-U
Intel N3150 Quad-Core Celeron CPU
Intel HD Graphics Barebones System
Crucial CT2KIT102464BF160B 16GB Kit DDR3-1600 MT/s 204-Pin SODIMM Notebook Memory
WD Red 8TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6 Gb/s 128MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD80EFZX
Sabrent USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Lay-Flat Docking Station for 2.5 or 3.5in HDD, SSD [Support UASP] (EC-DFLT)

I'm not sure what the hard disk controllers or the network cards are in this Zotak.

Sir, that box is not suitable for FreeNAS. Secondly, ZFS on top of USB is known to be unstable.

Also have this:

OCZ-Vertex SSD 256GB

---

The ZOTAK is using ethernet in.

USB 3 to the Sabrent enclosure with the WD Red inside of it. This is set up as ZFS.

The OCZ Vertex SSD is also ZFS and I've got a Jail installed but it's not in use.

FreeNAS is installed on a high speed SD card and the ZOTAK bios boots from it.

Why is this machine not compatible? And why is USB not ok for running your disks?

This machine runs very well it just crashes, which is happening more often now.

This discussion is not new.

You do realize that these two statements are contradictory?

Let's examine your build. Most of what I'm going to write is covered in the Hardware Recommendations Guide. You'll find a link in my sig and it is in the Resources section.

ZOTAC ZBOX C Series Passive Cooling Mini PC
That does not bode well for any kind of server.

Intel N3150 Quad-Core Celeron CPU
Woefully underpowered, maximum supported RAM is the absolute minimum for FreeNAS, no ECC.

Crucial CT2KIT102464BF160B 16GB Kit DDR3-1600 MT/s 204-Pin SODIMM Notebook Memory
Running twice the CPU's limit is probably a bad idea.

Sabrent USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Lay-Flat Docking Station for 2.5 or 3.5in HDD, SSD [Support UASP] (EC-DFLT)
USB's main characteristics are being cheap and ubiquitous. Neither is particularly helpful in assuring reliability. Most USB/SATA bridges are pure crap.

This tells me you have not one, but two god-awful Realtek GbE controllers. They are beyond atrocious. They're failing. Why? I dunno, ask Realtek why they make such crappy GbE controllers and ask Zotac why they feel the need to save money over Intel's less-than-two-buck i217/8/9, or even Intel's 3.20$ i210.
