The current usbhidd for apc smart ups expose a fairly limited set of variables (due to old apc usb driver didn't support the MODBUS "system" - like which is supported for RS232) for monitoring and changing settings via USB cable.
Nowadays a USB cable to the UPS is probably more common than serial/RS232..

My request would be a port this daemon to freenas system for since I, and probably other people, want to monitor battery temp, expected runtime etc
I guess this could be exposed as a 3rd apc smart ups settings for the NUT tools?
