Dears,
I'm going to implement a new NAS with this HW specs:
Server backbone: SSG-6048R-E1CR36L https://www.supermicro.com/products/system/4U/6048/SSG-6048R-E1CR36L.cfm
CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2630 v4 (25M Cache, 2.20 GHz)
RAM: 1*32GB + 1*16GB
HDD: 9*5TB WD red

I'll start with only 1 CPU... is there any problems ??
I'll use the samba file share... is there any problems with the CPU??
Is there any problem with the RAM (I don't know this brand is it known/ trusted)??

For the question about starting with 1 CPU, it can generally be done. Many
manufactures list what features are not available without the second CPU.
A glance at the motherboard manual, (page 1-10), shows that PCIe slots 4,
5, 6 and 7 are un-available without CPU 2. Plus it's associated memory.

I assume you already know this, but you're *drastically* overbuilding if you're looking at 9 drives and CIFS (Samba) shares. I have a similar chassis with dual E5s and I've never seen the load average even hit 1, despite heavy load via NFS and CIFS. And I know my system is drastically overbuilt!
