Please be patient, I'm an absolute beginner.
So I decided to give Truenas a try. I wanted to make a Plex mediaserver from my old PC. The installation went fine. I use my mediaserver and Plex can reach my contents but all of a sudden I can't reach my TRUENAS on Win 10. As far as I know I haven't changed anything. The TrueNas version is 12.0 U6. Since I live in Hungary I can't quote the window errorr message but the is says after I give my name and password that "\\TRUENAS cannot be reached - maybe I don't have the right to use the network resource. Ask the admin. It's not allowed for the user to connect with more than one username. Disconnect and try again pal"
I don't know what to do. Please help!

Sounds like the SMB service crashed. Try logging into your TrueNAS server and restarting SMB from the Services tab.

Many thanx for the fast reply. I tried it. Restasted SMB service, Windows and the NAS itself. Unfortunately the problem persists. Maybe the problem is on the Windows side?
(On a second thought: before the crash I modified Plex permissions to have total access on the media library (I couldn't delete movies from Plex). This is the only thing changed. Maybe this is affected something?)

How did you make media available to Plex? Did you mount a dataset outside of the /mnt/<your pool>/iocage directory, or did you put everything into a directory under /mnt/<your pool>/iocage? If the latter, you broke your server, and you'll need to reinstall and re-upload your media. Everything under iocage is reserved by the system for jails and plugins, and should never, ever have its permissions changed.

This section of the manual describes how to make datasets available to a jail/plugin: https://www.truenas.com/docs/core/applications/jails/storage/. You can change permissions on a dataset outside the iocage directory without affecting the system, and this is the recommended way to make storage available to a plugin.

You are very kind to answer my questions and I hope this is the solution. Right now I'm working but after that I give it a try.
As far as I know - and as I mentioned before I'm a newbie - I put everything under iocage so maybe that's the problem.
I'll let you know what happened and many thanx again.

May I ask what is the easiest way to reinstall and re-upload my media? I mean, should I start all over again the whole procedure - installing a new Truenas server, then the Plex mediaserver? Or is there any method to get rid of the corrupted part of the system with some modifications?

By the way, how is it possible that I broke the server but Plex is still using it and can reach the media? My problem is that Win 10 can't reach it so I can't copy or delete files.

And the big surprise: I restarted the server (just like in yesterday) and win10 NOW can see and reach the server. I didn't changed anything.
For me this is the worst case scenario because I don't know the reason of the malfuncion and how could I trust in a system which I obviously don't understand. What could go wrong? Maybe something on Windows side?
