Hi everyone!

I have a question, will the PEXSAT34SFF SFF-8087 controller from StarTech will work with FreeNAS? I know its maybe not a true "server" controller...

I do search on search engines and I found nothing related to the compatibility of this product, also the FreeNAS documentations did no tell more about this too.

Thanks in advance for your help and have a great day!

Is it supported by BSD? I'd it a raid card or hba?

According to the startech page for the card, it uses a Marvell 88SE9230 chip, which is a chip to avoid.

In this thread, the OP had corruption on the drives that were plugged into it.

Also just for my curiosity, if I plug the PEXSAT34SFF who it use a Marvell 88SE9230 chip, will the drives will be detected by FreeNAS?

The drives might be detected or the drives may to be detected.
The drives may be detected and not function correctly.
This is why the Marvell controllers are not recommended.
Are you feeling lucky today?
