Someone tell me which ram please I don't want F this up :)

Hi,

I've read all the stickies etc. Going to grab the following board and cpu, I looked at the supported ram but still not comfortable I'm getting the right one. So can someone point me at 32GB of ram from newegg that's compatible with the Mboard and CPU selected and I'll click the order button.

Also can you please confirm that the CPU is compatible with this board as it says LGA 1150 and not 1155.

Obviously, the processor is not compatible with that board. I also have no idea where you got the idea that it might be after reading that they have different sockets.

Get an X10 board instead. I have answered a lot of questions regarding those motherboards in my FAQ and linked posts (link is in my sig).

Haha yeah I thought that CPU would be the wrong socket. I started with the correct one and then newegg suggested that as a newer model, hence my question. Anyway updated choice to the X10, can you please suggest 32gb ram from newegg.

Also those Sas2 ports can I plug sata drives straight into those ?

Since there's no RAM from the QVL on newegg, your best bet is this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148669

using it on 2x X10SLL-F and 1x X10SLM+-LN4F, each w/ 4x8GB dimms total.

Get two of these for your 32GB of memory. It's the memory I'm running in my system and is compatible with the X10 board you listed.

As far as the SAS ports you'll have to flash the controller with the version 16 IT firmware. Do a search, there's lots of posts on the board that describe the process.
