Snapshot or Recycle Bin

I have some questions, I had created a dataset in raid 1 sharing in (SMB) , all family photo and video save in this location, and everyone could access to it, I am just scary my kid delete some by error.

right now I am thinking snapshot it every week or using recycle bin for file recovery. or any better option?

Sure snapshots and backups are highly recommended. Why not also give the kid read-only access?
