Snapshot not restoring?

I accidentally chown'ed the entire jail to media:media. There was an auto-snapshot an hour ago. Clicked the restore button and it says it was successful, but all the files are still media:media, and all the changes I was making are still there, e.g. sysrc -a shows edits that should have disappeared when rolled back.

Any ideas? I can't really see how i'm doing anything wrong with the rollback.

I found out that the snapshot restore actually mounts the snapshot to my volume e.g. /mnt/vol1/snapshot name/ and can then be used just like any other mount point, but I've not actually cd'ed into it to see what was there yet or cp'ed the files back into the jail.


Plex is still working OK.

I'll be installing plex into an iocage jail soon so will play with snapshot restore on the old warden jail when I no longer need it.

I don't understand snapshots so need to read up on how to restore from them first.

My jails are not off site backed up, only the jail data is backed up.
