SMB memory leak?

I have noticed an ARC size drop over time caused by SMB consuming increasing amounts of memory as my server stays up, after four days SMB went from its normal few hundred MB to over 13 GB as viewed in freenas "Display System Processes" window. After restarting SMB its usage returns to normal, only to start slowly climbing again.

I have no out of the ordinary SMB configuration parameters, and fairly light usage on my shares (maybe 20 GB of total traffic on ~1000 files per day). This is on the current FreeNAS-11.1-RC3 version.

I don't have the knowledge of freenas to track this problem down myself, but I can provide any information that is requested.

Thanks to anyone that wants to help!

Try filing a bug report, to see if the people deep in the Samba trenches have anything on that behavior. You might want to include a debug file and mark the ticket as private.

I have filed a bug report, though I will wait to attach a debug file until the issue presents itself again in a couple days.

Thanks!

Does the memory drop if you restart the SMB service?
