I am running Freenas 11.x and use it mainly to backup remote clients to it via FTP, it was setup with default unix permissions on the datastore and I created a user account for each FTP user that was/is FTPing. Life is good....
Now I need to add SMB file sharing so I can use a windows PC to mount the backups on this datastore with a windows based app (Storagecraft Quick Mount utility). This requires Windows File share access. So if I select the datastore and change the file permissions to Windows I lose the ability to FTP into them (don't ask me how I know that ;) ). What is the best approach here to keep the FTP working and yet give me access to these files in the Windows 10 native OS/file sharing protocol?
