TRUENAS SCALE 22.12

Hello everyone.

I am new to Truenas and I have been trying to give my Oppo media player access to my SMB share and I just can't get it to work.
I have created a user and in permissions given it access to the share. I can use this user from my windows machines and my android phone no problem, however when I use these details on the Oppo I get: Login Failed please verify username and password.

Attached are screenshots of the dataset and settings, SMB share settings and ACL settings.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Apologies if I have not provided enough information (and my lack of knowledge in Truenas).

Cheers.

Check output of midclt call smb.status AUTH_LOG | jq. This may give some indication about why it's failing. This may be one of those devices out there that is using legacy / insecure access methods.

Yes the ip is static which I enforced 192.168.1.86.

SMB1? No I haven't. Noob question. Where am I able to do that?

Nevermind I was able to find it. I enabled both SMB1 and NTLMv1 Auth and now my Oppo player connects fine.
I do understand enough to know that this isn't great for security though, correct?
Is there a way around this, or is it a matter of using a different device so that I don't have to enable SMB1?

Thank you for your help.
