Smart won't turn on

As the title says I've built a freeness 11 box in a HP z240 using 4 8tb drives in raidz1. I realise that when I turn on smart it doesn't turn on even thought the drives have smart enabled. The drives are WD Red drives. As such I am concerned in case I have a failure as I wouldn't know till the drive has already died. Any guidance would be totally appreciated as I am a newbie to freeness.

Two places to make settings for SMART to be operational:

Storage, View Discs - click on each disk to select, hit the Edit button, enable S.M.A.R.T. in the menu, hit OK:

Services, start S.M.A.R.T.

That was exactly the issue. My boot usb drives had smart enabled and it seems freeness doesn't like that.
