Been getting SMART errors on my console. Seen drives fail, but given the life of this drive I am a little surprised. Drive is 5+ years old. NAS has been mostly turn/off as use. Recently moved it into a new case and keeping it on 24/7.
Looking at similar posts and see that most people with this error are showing where the `LBA_of_first_error` is and can tell the drive to stop using the sectors or that their drive is hosed. Hoping someone could shed a little light on my error since its showing blank. Assuming the drive is hitting unreadable sectores and failing the scan. I am going to have to replace the drive. but if I can avoid shelling out ~$250 for a new one I would like to.
Code:
May 20 16:00:05 freenas smartd[17511]: Device: /dev/ada1, 384 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors May 20 16:00:05 freenas smartd[17511]: Device: /dev/ada1, 384 Offline uncorrectable sectors
